About Us

Bootleg Coffee Trader was established in 2017 as Townsville’s first eco-friendly coffee trike. The Bootleg Coffee Trike was a favorite at local markets and events, using solar power and LP Gas to deliver mobile, high quality, barista-made coffee.

Since then, Bootleg’s founder Joe, has grown the business into one of our most reliable, customer focussed coffee wholesalers in Townsville and North Queensland. Bootleg Coffee Trader provides personalised products and services including wholesale coffee, commercial coffee machines, commercial coffee grinders, commercial machine repairs and maintenance, and first-class barista training, to cafes and restaurants across Townsville and North Queensland.

With over 20 years of experience operating cafes and working within the hospitality industry, Joe understands the importance of partnering with a reputable coffee supplier and works hard every day to provide his wholesale customers with high-quality coffee and equipment, and local, hands-on, reliable, and professional services.

In 2019, Joe sold the famous eco-friendly trike and established the Bootleg Coffee Trader Espresso Bar at the Mooney St shops. The Espresso Bar serves amazing Tim Adams Speciality Coffe, a range of Tea Drop speciality teas, take away sandwiches and treats, and a Saturday morning breakfast menu including waffles, smashed avo, and bacon and egg rolls.

Blending tradition with innovation.

Mazzer was founded in the years between the two World Wars by Luigi Mazzer (born 1912). He first founded “La Veneta”, then, back in the 40s, the production of professional coffee-grinders and grinder-dosers started: this is how this precision-mechanic workshop became a highly specialised one. The company was then given the name “Mazzer” and quickly gained a major position in the worldwide coffee-grinders and grinder-dosers production.

Since then many things have changed, but their passion for mechanical engineering and for things done to the letter stays the same, and so does our constantly seek for perfection and for the impulse to a constant improvement. Their company is headed to the future but still in deep touch with our past, a past made of values and leadership in this sector.
